Men's 8120 Alpine Insulated Ski Pant

Our top-of-the-line insulated pants, the 8120 are ready to go all day and season. We created these pants to handle the wear and tear of the hardest-charging skiers and racers on the mountain. The 8120 features our own  3/4 Step-Through™ construction along with 4-way stretch, fully taped seams, and waterproof breathability. Along with our performance fit, tailored for mountain athletes, the 8120 is the only pair of pants you'll need for 150+ days a year on the hill.

Race Inspiration x Freeride Style x Performance Fit

The freeride style of the 8120 Pant paired with the performance fit and stretch Dura-Motion fabric allows unrestricted movement while providing a head-turning look. The performance fit is built for athletes who are sick of pinch points and want a pant that lets them move in any direction

3/4 Step-Through™ Construction

Full side access via heavy-duty zippers for ease in taking on/off and maximum ventilation options. 3/4 Step-Through™ allows you to get your pants on over your suit without fumbling with the snow-filled zippers of a traditional zip pant.

    Too early to tell.

I have not skied in them yet. Ask me again in about a month. They look good. You will likely get more stars once I have tried them on snow.

    Shelter ski pants

I bought these in the spring so I only wore them a couple of times, but they should be warm and work really well for mid-winter skiing. Fabric is stretchy, but seems very durable. Fit and finish is excellent. I’m 5’8” and 165 lbs and fit is very good in waist and hips; a little long in the legs, but better than most brands.

    Pants review

Pants are tight on my boots. I have the headwaters pants too that have a slightly wider legs. Pretty disappointed they fit differently around my boots than the headwall pants.

    Michael,

Thank you for your comment! The Shelter is a different style than the Headwall so that may be why they fit differently around your boots. Our Shelter pants are a thicker material and insulation than the Headwall which is more of a shell.
Please let me know if there are any other comments or questions you have!

    Men’s Shelter Ski Pants

TLDR: love the pants so far. I was apprehensive at first about buying an insulated pant (as I haven't owned insulated in 20-ish years). Happy to report the insulation is super light and the leg vents help control heat. It's tough to find nice pants with a full length zipper down the leg these days. As someone who uses a knee brace it's super helpful to just put on/take off in the parking lot at the same time you're dealing with your boots. I'm 5' 9.5'' and roughly 170Ibs, athletic build (31-32 waist), the Medium fits perfect. Good amount of pockets and the little bit of stretch they have is great.

SHELTER Pant is the way to go

Built for real world skiing. These pants are cut to allow a racer to train in cold weather and still be able to move the way they need to in a speed suit.

It is also a great all weather ski pant for non racers.
