In 2015 an inbounds avalanche in Soelden, Austria claimed the lives of two young U.S. Ski Team athletes, Ronnie Berlack and Bryce Astle. Out of this tragedy the BRASS foundation was created to help recreational and high level skiers/snowboarders take steps towards avalanche awareness and risk mitigation.
